AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY'S
The current programme shown on Saturday evening for the last time drow another good house, and seemed to meet with the approval of the audionce. This programme has now given way to another magnificent collection of 'films, included in which are a Biograph startler, entitled ."A Beast at Bay," and an exciting topical film, brimful of interest, "Paris Motor Bandits," and the usual "Pathe Gazette." The dramas are an excellent lot, such as "A Banker's .Daughter, "Transformation of Mike" (A. 8.), and "The Telephone Girl," a Vitagraph production. A scenic film of "Eainous Rivers," togother with "Paper Cuttings" (a novelty) will also be shown. The comic part of the programme consists of "Becky Gets a Husband," "When Wifey's Ma Comes Back," and "Won by a Fish," and other celebrated films. On account of the inclement state of the weather no matinee was held.
The Masterton Amateur Theatrical Company produced to a crowded audionce on Wednesday night last "H.M.S. Pinafore," the'delightful opera wluch was so successfully staged by the local Operatic Society. It will bo remembered that the Masterton company purchased the scenery, dresses, etc., from the Stratford Society. The local paper states that "as an amateur entertainment, it is safe to say no better had been seen in Masterton.'
