(Per Press Association.; Dannevirke, September 11. Mr W. J. O’Donnell, borough engineer, who recently resigned owing to a difference of opinion with the Council regarding drainage, has withdrawn Ids resignation, the Council not having dealt w ith the same.

SAWMILLS DESTROYED BY FIRI

Christchurch, September 12

The Kaipoi Shipping Co.’s sawmills at Ilangiora were destroyed by lire early this morning. The damage is estimated at £3OOO. The insurance is said to he small. This is the third fire the company has suffered within a year.
