MIDHIRST GUN CLUB.
A competition recently took place on the grounds of the above dub for a viiuaolo, trophy kindly donated by Messrs. Jackson Bros., of Si rat ford. After some very keen shooting at tuo day birds Mr. C. E. Seabright (i-lyds) won with a fine score, being closely followed by Mr. I. Kovaleski C'7yds), who was second, Mr. A. Richmond (if yds; third. In the evening a social and dance was held in the Town Hall, when the prizes were presented l:y the president of the club, Mr. W. White, the recipients being loudly applauded. The dance was much enjoyed by about forty couples, the music being supplied by Miss R. Anderson, mini was splendid. A song was sung by Miss Savage, and a recitation (comm) by Mi (j. Anderson. A very bountiful supper was provided and handed round by the ladies, who were untiring in their efforts in seeing that all had a good time. Extras were played by Mrs A. Richmond and Miss E. Huse. Representatives of the club ' have been shooting at Te lloti and Haweni lately, and at both places were successful in winning substantial sums in the different sweeps. _ The club has some promising material in Hs;.membership, and will be heard of in Hit near future.
