THE END OF A WALK. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, September G. About 2 p.ra. on Wednesday John Nicol, aged 27 years, left his parents’ homo in Mornington ostensibly to go for a walk. No trace of him was found till 4.45 p.m. to-day, when ho was discovered by his bother hanging in a cellar under a house in a very secluded spot. Deceased had been in illhealth for some time. KILLED IN THE BUSH. Nelson, September 0. Information has been received today that a lad named Fred Carlson, twelve years of ago, was killed at Bi" Bush. It appears that his father and another man were hushfelling when a limb fell on the hoy, striking his head and chest. He died before ho could ho removed homo. DROWNED IN The WHIRINAKI. Auckland, September G. Information has been received by the police from Rawere that two native children were drowned in the Whirinaki River yesterday. Both were about three years of ago. Constables have loft to make enquiries. CUT PUS THROAT. Gisborne, September G. Walter Scott, aged 31, committed suicide by cutting his throat with a razor at Waipiro Bay.
