1 111 I TAIN’S 1 MENTIONS. Pekin, August 31. ,S!r John Jordan’s memorandum says that any attempt to re-establish C'liinese authority in Tibet violates the Anglo-Chinesc Treaty of 1906. Britain fully recognises Chinese suzerainty, and disclaims any intention of interfering with Tibet’s integrity of administration. She will not consent to the assertion of Chinese sovereignty over a State enjoying independence under a treaty between Britain and cue Chinese. He declares that the expendition now engaged on the borders of Szechuan was never ordered to Tibet. , BRITAIN’S NOTE TO TIBET. New York, September 1. The United States does not intend to oppose Great Britain’s action in Io toward ng a Note to Cjumn demanding -o ho consulted before action is taken in Tibet.
