At a meeting of the; Council of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders’ Association it was decided that Stratford is to he the centre for the next annual meeting of the Society, which takes place in July. The scenery and dresses for the performance of H.M.S. Pinafore are at present reposing in the Stratford Station yards. Full dress rehearsals, and the performance itself, are now events of the near future. Trie Operatic Society have certainly ixen lucky in obtaining from the Dannevirke Soclty the whole of the stage effects and costumes. Those, by ihe 'way, were used by the hitter in a peforma.iec before His Excellency the-■ Governor.
