KERBING AND CHANNELLING
(To the Editor “Stratford Post.”)
Sir.—l notice in last night's issue that the Borough Council are about to consider estimates for the above purpose. Well, sir, as a municipality wo are growing old enough to know whan is wanted. To kerb and channel many of our mud roads would be a sheer waste of money. Some of our streets require kerbing only, Ibe 30 foot space between metal and kerbing could be ploughed, levelled, graded and sown with Kentucky blue, or some other species of sharp, matty, rooty, growing grass. It would look green and tidy, in place of the long flaggy rank growth of the out-of date cocksfoot, which iu summer requires a small army of Father Time blades to keep in order. To continue this ehip-a-chip with the old tongs is costly, out-of-date and not in keeping will) our progressive ideas—l am, etc.
