THE KOTUKU.
CONTRADICTORY EVIDENCE. (Per Press Association.) Greymouth, May 28. The nautical enquiry into the stranding of the 5.3. Kotuku, was continued all to-day, when tlie evidence of the second officer, the steersman, and the signal station-master, was taken. The evidence was of a very contradictory nature, the vessel's officers swearing that tho vessel did not touch the south breakwater, and the
signal-station master swearing she crashed into it stern first, and was held fa.st for five or six minutes. The enquiry is creating a good deal of interest locally, and is expected to last for another two days.
