The nautical enquiry into the stranding of tin l Union Company's steamer Ketuku on the North Tip-head .opened to-day, before Mr. Hewitt, S.M., and Captains Post and Black, assessors. The evidence of Captain Christian and the first mate (Carriek) was taken. Both attributed the accident to the jamming of the steering gear and the stepping of the propeller. '!he enquiry was adjourned till to-morrow rnoi ning.
