SURVEYORS DEMAND UNIFORM ORTHOGRAPHY. ESPECIALLY NATIVE NAMES. Melbourne, May 27. The Surveyor-Generals' Conference approved of the adoption of tbe system of orthography used by. the Royal Geographical Society, the Colonial Foreign Offices, the Admiralty, and War Office for native names, also a uniform system of spelling the names of places.
