Wangauui, May 23. The Wanganui Jockey Club's steepochase opened to-day in wretched weather! A sum of 116,128 was passed through the totalisator, as compared with £16,024 for the corresponding day last year. The following are concluding details of the racing:— Kaitoke Hack Hurdle Handicap, of 100 sovs; about one mile and threequarters.—Silver Cluse, 10.4, 1; Te Roti, 9.12, 2; Bismarck, 9.4. 3. Kauroa 10.8, Outlander 10.8, Dogger Bank 10.2, Te Puia 10.2, Golden Wat'" 9 12, Nedra 9.10, Sphinx 9.5, Canadian 9.5, Torbelle 9.4, and Fusilier 9.0, _ also started. Won easily. Time, 3min 23 2-5 sec.

Century Hurdle Handicap, of 300 sovs; tv.o miles and a quarter.—l\ rby Paul, 9.0, 1; Stevens, 9.10. 2, Seaman, 9.0, 3. Paisano 12.0, The Native 10.7, Koran 10.4, Silva 910 Cornelian 9.10, Sandy Paul 9.10, Waterwork 9.10, Merry Lai 9.7, i:j}<] (moke 9.4, also started. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 22sec.

Connolly Handicap, of 250 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—Merrivonia, 7.8, 1; Mescal, 6.11, 2; Golden Loop,: 7.0, 3. Byron 8.4, Labour Day 7.12, Lady 'Mcnschikoff 7.11, The Rover 7.9, and Con the Shaughraun 6.10, also started. Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 15

Puru Hack Handicap, of 100 sovs; one mile.—Tiwari, 7.7, 1; Waikeb.ua, 7.8, 2; Eastwind, 7.6, 3. Bonnie Boy 9.3, Simple Sam 8.8, Amber and White 8.6, Draft 8.3, Manitau 8.3, Master Tupuhi 7.0, Torpoint 7.10, Prosper 7.8, Leonta 7.7, Kiwitahi 7.2, Silver Rose 7.0, Moirette 7.0, Kilrain 7.0, and ISebulous 7.0, also started.
