INQUEST ADJOURNED. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, 'May 23. An inquest on the body of Thomas Joseph Noonan, who was killed in n motor accident last night, was opened to-day, and after evidence of identification was adjourned till May 31. DEATH BY MISADVENTURE. Auckland, May 23. At the inquest on Lydia Vassallo, who died at her brother's residence this morning, the Coroner, addressing the jury, said that death was plainly due to misadventure, as deceased had endeavoured to counteract the effects of spirits of salts by taking milk as an antidote. A verdict was returned that death was due to misadventure. ALLEGED ILLEGAL OPERATION. Auckland. May 23. The death of a young woman named Phyllis Adelaide French, twenty years of ace, in a private hospital in Grafton Road, on April 20 last, formed the subject of a prolonged coronial enquiry. The evidence of the medical witnesses was to the effect that death was caused by an illegal operation. The inquest was not concluded and was adjourned.
