Watt, the New Zealan sportsman, in an interview, said there was no question that the totahsator was better for owners. Under it they were able to run for larger stakes. Betting with the bookmaker was not necessary under these circumstances and naturally made the rac ;ng straighter than it might be otherwise. Tt'he totalisator had absolutely made facing ia New Zealand.
