A. married woman named Christina Larsen is now lying in a very critical condition at the Napier Hospital, as the result of an instrument having been used upon her for an unlawful purpose. Mary Lovell and Annie Solomonsen have been arrested in connection with the affair, and remanded till to-morrow morning. Mary Lovell was charged with counselling Christina Larsen, on May 13, to use an instrument upon herself for an unlawful purpose, and Annie Solomonsen wit.ii using the instrument. Alter Chris-
tina Larsen’s evidence had been taken the two accused were allowed out on bail of £SO each, and one surety of £SO.
