Mead was missed when 18 by Matthews off Kollaway. Thompson succumbed to a skier The innings lasted 195 minutes, the last seven wickets falling ?n 80 minutes. There was splendid oovh’ng. The wicket helped the smart fielding. Scores:— Australia. Mayno, c Brown, b Thompson ... 4 Gregory, b Douglas i 11 Macattnoy, not out 73. Bardsley, not out 90 Total for 2 wickets 200 The first wicket fell at 15, Mayuc being smartly taken by Brown. Douglas |ound Gregory’s middle stump with true total unchanged. Macartney was brilliant all round. He gave a chance at 57 to Mead in the slips off Douglas. Bardsley showed splendid cutting and leg hitting. The half century was hoisted in 50 minutes. The bowling was weak. Fifty appeared in 40 minutes, the.century in 75, and 200 in 125 minutes. Stumps were then drawn.
