Thl Northumberland miners' committee passed a resolution bitterly protesting against Lord Mersey's award and asking the Federation Conference to eliminate the minimum rate award- 1 t-d to bowers which, it is alleged, is below that awarded to datallers after allowing for necessary deductions. THE HOPPER TROUBLE. Reef ton, May 20. The miners at Blackwater have refused to work the hoppers and only the surface hands are now at work. The men at the Energetic mine, in accordance with the union's order, went to work tin's morning expecting to be discharged but none as yet are hack. Things are very quiet in the town.
