THE TERRITORIALS.

THE CAMP AT WAVERLEY. The men of I) Squadron, Wellington and- West Const Mounted Rifles, left ap 10.45 this morning for the annual training camp to be held at Waverley. Captain Henty was in charge, and with him were Lieutenant Wilson (No; 1 troop) and Lieutenant Crawshaw (No. 2 troop). The local boys will probably muster 50, by the time the men who entrain at Eltham are included; their full muster is somewhere between eighty and ninety. The left half squadron, comprising men from Inglewood and Waitara, were in uniform, and looked ckl campaigners. No. 1 troop have not yet got their uniforms, and judging from the changes that took place at the Hawera camp, when they arrive back in Stratford again will be unrecognisable as the rather raw looking contingent that left the station this morning.

No difficulty was experienced with the horses, which were mostly accommodated in the ordinary cattle trucks. The camp, by the way, will be a large one, as troopers will be coming from all parts of Taranaki, and as far south as Wanganui, the estimated number to be in camp being 500.
