AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. There was a large attendance at His Majesty’s Theatre last night, but the pleasure of those presents was somewhat marred owing to trouble with the power supply, a start not being made until about nine o’clock. The star picture turned out to be all that was claimed —a really clear and most exciting well-acted film. Dan Morgan is discharged for -insulting his employer and steals two horses. He and ibis mate stick np the gold escort, murdering the constable and the man in charge of the escort. The mounted troopers ride in pursuit of Morgan, killing his mate. Morgan eludes the police, pays a call to his former employer and 1 whilst; engaged in talking shoots the three in charge of the homestead and; sets fire to the building. The trappers arrive and open fire, but Morgan hills four troopers, Arriving at a wayside hotel hails up seven men including the proprietor and demands drink, which they 'promptly give him. Whilst about to mount his horse Morgan’s revolver accidentally gooffl off, and thinking he has been fired at shoots at the crowd, killing four. Thus he goes on through ibis life of crime until he is finally shot whilst crossing a log over a stream and falls into the river dead. “Pull for the Shore, Sailors,’ is a fine A.B. Ocean Story cf shipwreck and hardship. The rest of the pictures are undoubtedly of the best. The same programme will be screened to-night and Saturday.
