COUNTER MOVE PROBABLE AT AUCKLAND. iPcr Press Association.) Auckland, May 7. Speaking as chairman of the Auckland Aerated Water Manufacturers’ Association, Air E. Gerard gave a reporter the facts of the alleged dispute between the hotelkeepers and the association, from the standpoint of the latter. He said there was really no dispute at all. Thd association agreed to soli, and the hotelkeepers had been buying since September last, at the current prices. The hotelkeepers had always been trying to get a “cut in,"’ but had never succeeded. “Whilst hotelkeepers are welcome to enter into the aerated water manufacture if they choose, they can raise no objection, of course, if the aerated water manufacturers agitato for some of the following things: Sale of twopenny beers; rigid inspection of all drinks sold, including beer, whisky, wines and soft tack; hotels being taken over by the Stale to ensure their being run for reasonable profit; and lastly, bottle licenses for grocers, which now obtain in some parts of the south of the Dominion. Finally, I say that the prices charged for aerated waters in Auckland are the lowest in the Dominion and also in Austral!: 1 ..' 1
