EFFECT OF LAST SUMMER’S CLEARANCES. A RISE NECESSARY. London, May 5. The National Federation of Meat Traders state that the wholesale clearances of stock, rendered necessary by last summer’s drought, are now being severely felt, necessitating higher prices for beef and mutton for some time.
