AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE,

A good programme, was shown to a large and enthusiastic audience at His Majesty's Theatre last evening. The new motor-generator has been working with such good results that -there -is now no longer any .such thing as fiicker and the clearness o.f the pictures is'as remarkable as the enjoyment derived from the innovation is great. The programme last night was a strong all-round one, conspicuous lor some line dramas. The "Poet and the People " and "Love of Summer Morn Were excellent examples of up-to-date cinematography. The star drama was "Macbeth." and Shakespeare's tragedy was followed on the white sheet ivith intense interest. The part of Lady Macbeth is well acted, and the staging and general effects are on a magniheent scale. It is undoubtedly ii grand film, and should not lie missed"by anybody who appreciates a good picture. ' The mysterious appearance of the witches, the crown, and the King is alone worth witnessing. An EiighV.li Pathe Gazette and several unique comics, in which tigers and lions arc very prominent, conclude the programme, 'which will lie screened for the second time to-night.
