MEDICAL EXAMINATION. 1

A medical examination of Territorials and Cadets will be held in the Defence Office, Stratford, on the 7th instant at 6 p.m., for all those newly registered, for those pronounced unfii at a previous, examination l and grant- : ed an exemption for the current year, and for those wlm failed to attend the medical examination 'or were posted. At Eltham the examination will be held in the school, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m., on the Bth inst.; at Kaponga at llira.m. bn the 9th inst. Atkinson at this evenings meeting of the union's management committee, when a discussion was proceeding respecting these parades. "And lot of our senior football, too," intimated Messrs W. Hardman and W. Perry. "We had better confer with the soccer and hockey ,people," suggested Mr A. E. Wilson. Burns were deputed to confer with other winter sports bodies, with the object of approaching the defence authorities on the matter. THE NINTH REGIMENT. . Napier, May 1. Nearly 300 of the 9th Regiment of the Wellington West Coast Mounted under Lieutenant-Colonel , SandtmTinn, drawn from the districts south of Napier, left this afternoon for Tutira, where they will go into camp for ten days' training. They will be joined to-morrow by about 200 i from Wairoa and Gisborno districts.
