INSURANCE IN TARANAKI.
THE FARMERS' FIRE INSURANCE ASSOCIATION. (Per l'ress Association!) Eltham, April 30. The seventh annual mooting of the Taranaki Fanners' Mutual Fire Insurance Association was held to-day. Tho report disclosed an improved financial position. The premium income for the year amounted to £IO6B his i Bd, being £35 in excess of the previous year. The insurance liability, after allowing for reinsurance, was £214,73(5 against £212,424 at the close of the I previous year. The total policies number 715, the general average being £298. The cash reserve amounts to 1 £3902 Is Bd, being £833 in advance of i the previous year. The premium votes I in force amount to £10,311 being an 1 increase of C 177, making a total inj crease in the assets of £lOll. A satI isfactory arrangement bad been agI reed upon with the State Office. The ; repoi t and balance-sheet were adoptj ed. Messrs .1. T. Quia, J. Christof- ! fel, S. Forsyth, R. Ljambie, E. MaxI well and F. W. Wilkie were re-elected j directors. The question of increasing i the rates on dairy factories risks was I referred to the incoming board. Tho I chairman claimed that the AssociaI tion's rate of 8s per cent was the lovrI est in the Dominion. l
