HOCKEY.
TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Taranaki Hockey Association was held at New Plymouth last night. The election of officers resulted as follows : President, Dr. H. E. Fookes; vice-presidents, the presidents ol all the affiliated clubs; secretary (acting), Mr J. E. Avery; auditor, Mr H. Stocker; delegate to the New Zealand Council, Mr I’. N. Rundle; management committee, the club delegates, officers, etc. It was decided that entries for all enp fixtures should close on Friday, May 3rd, and the fixtures should commence on May 16th. The special and the northern and southern division fixtures will be decided at the association’s next meeting. The affiliation fees were fixed at the same as last year. It was decided that the association should hold a tournament on the first* convenient yvliole holiday, at a place to be arranged later. The secretary was instructed to write to the various clubs with a view to forming junior teams. The Eltham Club referred to the question of moving the headquarters of the association to Stratford. This was left over for discussion at next meeting. Mr J. E. A very tendered his resignation as secretary of the association. A, hearty vote of thanks was accorded him for his past services and the resigtion was accepted with regret. Mr Avery will continue to act as secretary until a successor is appointed.
