XEWTOX KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, 12th, at my Vvaiwakaiho yards, there was a good yearding and attendance. Bidding throughout was dull. Mixed wcancrs £1 3s to £1 os; weaner steers, £1 Is; 15 to 20-months heifers, in calf, £3 6s, to £3 12s; poor, £2 12s to £2 18s Gel; empty heifers, £3 os Gd; 15-month steers, poor, £2; store cows, £1 17s 6d to £3 2s Gd; forward cows, £3 Gs to £3 15s; fat cows, £1 Us to £1 16s Gd; cows in milk, £3 Is to £5 7s Gd; cows, late culvers and poor, £2 12s Gd to £4 17s Gd; bullocks, £4 19s; bulls, £1 16s to £3 7s; fat lambs, 10s Gd; lambs, good, Gs 8d; f.-xn. ewes, 4s Gd,
At Urenui on Monday I had a fair entry of cattle, the demand being best for steers and good store and forward cows. Mixed weaners, £1 5s Gd; weaner heifers, £1 4s Gd; weaner steers, 14s to £1 2s ; 20-months steers, £3 to £3 10s; poor, £2 Gs Gd; 2 to steers, £3 IGs to £4 12s Gd; 20-months heifers, £3 5s to £4 according to quality; 3J— year bullocks, £5 7s; bulls, £2 15s to £3 15s; store cows, £2 12s to £3 11s; forward cows, £3 IGs to £4 4s; fat heifers and cows, £5 4s; cows and calves, £4; dairy cows, £4 10s to £4 15s.
At Toko on the same day there was only a small yarding, which sold as follows:—Store cows, £2 19s to £3 14s; small, £2 3s Gd; 18-months heifers, H.W.8., £3 3s; yearling hull, £i 15s Gd; bulls, £1 15s; 15-monfhs steers, £2 Gs Gd; weaner heifers,, £1 8s; lambs, 1 4s.
In my Stratford yards on Tuesday, there was a big yarding of stock and a very large attendance. Buyers were present from all parts of Taranaki, and there was a good demand for all classes, especially for good 3iyear bullocks and store cows. The last draft of 80 odd bullocks, from the Nukuhakere station, wore of excellent quality and met with good competition, realising £6 5s to £6 7s; good weaners sold at improved rates. Price: realised were: —Mixed weaners, bot, £1 4s Gd to £1 9s Gd; poor, 18s to £1 4s Gd; weaner heifers, £1 13s to £2 10s; 20-months heifers, in calf, £3 Is to £3 2s Gd; 2-year heifers, small, £3 11s to £3 IGs; stgs, £3 7s'Gd; 30-month, steers, poor, £2 2s Gd to £2 10s; 2-year steers, £-1; 34-year bullocks, £G 7s, £6 ss, £5 15s, £5 ss, £5 3s, £5 2s; store cows, £2 8s to £3 3s; forward cows, £3 11s to £4 3s; fat cows, £5 1 s to £5 19s; bulls, £2 2s; cows, ill milk, £6'2s Gd; springing heifers, £6 10s. At Stony River, on Wednesday, I had a small yarding, but a good attendance and demand-, practically 1 everything being cleared at the hammer at the following rates :— Jersey weaner heifers, £2 3s Gd; 20-months steers, £2 9s; to £3 7s 6d; 2-year steers, £4; 20-months heifers in calf, small, £3 Is, 2i-year, in calf, heifers, £5 ss; store cows, £2 to £2 Is; forward cows, £3 8s to £4 ss; hulls, £1 5s to £3 16s; dairy cows, £4 ss, to £5.
During the weak I have sold privately a large number of stock at the following rates:—Best weaners, £1 15s to £2 5s Gd; others, £1 7s to £1 12s; 20-months steers, £3 to £3 10s; coloured, £2 9s; 2.}-year steers, £■! 2s oxl to £4 7s Gd; bulls. £3; store cows, £3 10s; forward cows, Cl 3s 6d to £4 10;;; fat cows, £5 to £5 10s; cows and calves, £1 3s 6d; empty 20-months heifers, £3 5s to £3 7s Gd; 20-months coloured, in calf, heifers, £4 12s Gd, £4 10s, £4 ss, £4 2s Gd, £4; 2J-year Jersey Shorthorn heifers, £7 10s; grades, £5 5s to £5; fat bullocks, £9, £8; 34-ycar bullocks, £5 15s; lambs, 7s; 4-tooth wethers, 13s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, 12s 9d; fat ewes, 13s lOd; 2-tooth ewes, 11s 6d, 11s 9d; mixed owes, ss’ 2d to 9s 2d.
