BOWLING.
TARANAKI BANNER FINAL. Yesterday was a red-letter day for bowlers on the local green, about forty players, including visitors, taking part in the game. The weather was ueautiiul, and the green in first-class order, the ladies as usual providing tea and other good things for refreshments, so tiiat the speakers on behalf of New .Plymouth and Hawera had nothing but complimentary remarks to make on the arrangements made for the enjoyment of tueir friends and themselves. The centre of attraction was the play-off between New Plymouth (representing the North) and Hawera (the South) for the Taranaki Bowling Association Banner.
