(T**ir Association.) Wanganui, April 16. Sidney Blain, a prominent bookmaker when bookmakers were licensed, and C. Crane, a local punter, again figured in the Court to-day, for the third time, as a sequel to a betting transaction. In the first case, Blain was fined £2O on the information of Crane, who had given evidence only on the understanding that he would be indemnified. This could not he done, so Blain brought an action against Crane for betting with him. Crane was ‘fined £5, hut the police undertook to recoup him. f To-day Crane sued Blain for £ls damages, for assault and battery, which took place at the time of settling up the original transaction which caused all the bother. Blain was mulcted to the extent of £7 9s.
