It was decided to rescind the forfeiture of R. Cleaver's section 15, Block IX., Mapara. On tne necessary steps being taken to close the track, it was decided to add tne reserve for a pack track through section 29, Block IX., Minn, and naif of tne reserve between sections 21 and 31 to VV. H. Foreman's Holding, tlie other half to be added to tke .adjoining land. Society applied to have section 28, Block lE, Uiiura, vested in it for a shoAVground. —Refused. Assistant-Ranger Meredith reported cu J. McFall’s application to have section 7, Block XU., Mapara, added to his holding. The Board decided to grant applicant a temporary lease of the laud/ XV. Davis’s application to lease a small portion of the Wlfatitokarua Block was deferred for the present. On-the reconmicffidation or Ranger E. Tolrti it was decided to offer tne following suburban sections in Matiere t-OAvn for sale, Avith the upset prices named: Section 19, .£55; section 35, £4O; section 36, £45. The disposal of a number of town sections at Mat:ere was deferred for survey of other sections on the north side of the street. The same ranger rccomrn nided, and it Avas decided, that M. Clark’s application to exchange a piece of section 1, Block 1., Ohura, for a portion of tne Waitewhena Domain, be given effect to. Parakcho Road. The Board resolved to recommend that the sum of £l5O be provided to form Parakoko Road, into a bridletrack to sections 1 and 2, Block V. On a report being received from Ranger Meredith, it Avas decided to restore part of Tangitu toAvnship to \V. L. Martin’s -sect.on 19, Block XII., Mapara, a value of £4 per acre to be put upon it. J, Corbett Avrote clraAving attention to the access to section 1, Block,lX., Waro, by the Okau Road; and the Board decided that it had no obcction to dispose of such portion of the road reserve as Avas not required, after making the necessary reservation along the stream. McLeod’s application it was decided to alloAA' the “thirds from sections in the Opatu Block to accumulate in the meantime, and to recommend the Government to put a sum on the estimates to. provide a crossing. A written explanation was tendered by J. Tavlor, Avhom the Board decided to notify to fulfil the residential conditions on section 17, Block XI, Pouatu, or transfer to some eligible person who Avonld reside on the land. Application Avas made_ by R. G. FoAvkner that sections 37, 38, 39 and 42, Whangamomona, be put up to public auction. It Avas decided to defer offering the sections for the present, and to inform FoAvkner that the Board Avas tillable to protect his improvements, but, if necessary, Avonld allow the removal of the house. On behalf of the Taranaki Education Board the secretary (Mr P. C. Whitcombe) asked the Board to set aside a school site in the lahora toAvnsiiip. . ~ This request will receive consideration when the township is being dealt with. Upon tlio Resident Road Engineer, New Plymouth, notifying that sections 7 and 8, Block XIII., Waro, were now accessible by numetalled dray road, it was resolved to offer them for settlement under part 3 of the Land Act, 1903. . . . The Commissioner Drought up the question of adding a portion of Crown lands adorning T. O’Shea’s section 19, Block IV., Totora, to nis holding. _ It was resolved that upon it being declared Crown land, a lease be granted to O’Shea of some land to improve his fencing boundary. Ranger Tolmo reported on the inspection of eighteen holdings, comprising 3076 acres. The improvements required amounted to El 197. Those effected aggregated £11,315. There were no defaulters. Bryson, section 2, Block ! 111., Mahoe, for non-residence — to be ' requested to reply to the commissioner. F. Bloomfield, section 4, Block VIII., 1 Olmra, for non-improvement —deferred for ranger’s report. The Under-Secretary for Lands advised that the application of Mrs J. K. Pedersen for section 79, Block IV., Paritutu survey district, SpotsAvood settlement, could not be granted.

Applixitßr.s for Land, John Maher’s cash application for section 3, Block XV., Ohura, 358 acres, was approved. J. A. Carr’s application for the renewable lease under tlie Lands ioi Settlement of sections 50 and 52, Block IV., Paritutu, SpotsAvood settlement, comprising 10 acres, was deferred for a month, the matter being left in the hands of the commissioner, along with B. Speight’s application for a lease of section 9, Block XII., Ohura, for saAvmilling purposes. It was resolved to inform D. W r . Mcßae that the Board Avas not in a position to open a block of Crown land to the west of section 2, Block J., Ohura, for selection. John Coleman applied for a yearly lease of section 2, Waitara West subdivision. It Avas decided that notice bo given of the termination of the present tenancy held by G. T. Breen. Education Rfissrves. The folloAving transfers of education leases Avere approved : —J. Holloway to J. S. S. Medley and A. R. Standish, section U, part 5, New Plymouth; E. J. Carthew to F. G. Sole, sections 2123, 2130, 2142, 2144, and part of 2145, New Plymouth ; A. It. and W. R. Davis to W. A. Davis, sections 58, 62 and 81, Pukearuhoe town, and 3, Town Belt; J. and P. O’Connor to VV. C. and H. J. Judd, section 16, Block 11., Omona. The sub-lease was approved ot . H. Robertson to M. L. Ellerm of parts of sections 395, and 421, New Plymouth. Gensral. W. J. Coventry wrote asking tlie reason of the Board’s refusal to give access to section 21, Block X\_., Ar.a. Jt was resolved to inform him that the Board did not see any reason to depart from its previous decision.
