MORE LIGHT.

AM) AX AMUSING INTERLUDE

Some amusement was created at the meeting of the Borough Council yesterday when Councillor King moved that a return lie prepared for the next meeting, showing tho amount expended by the Borough in legal expanses in connection with the Electrical Supply Company. It would show, he said, amidst general laughter, the amount of money that had been wasted.

Councillor Paget: I will second that pro forma. It will lie most interesting; The reason for this waste, however, is the presence of electric light representatives at the Council table. Councillor King: Only one. Councillor Paget: Oh, no, there has been a lot in the past. The Mayor (smiling): Let's have the last night peaceful, if you please. Councillor Paget: I was inclined to think that that £99 ISs 7d was a pure waste of money, but if its going to provide a muzzle for Councillor King with regard to electric light matters, it's going to he dirt cheap. (Laughter.) The Council then got on to other less interesting matters.
