AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB. TRAFALGAR WINS THE A.J.O. PLATE. A .VICTORY FOR GUNBOAT. Sydney, April 13. There was fine weather for the concluding day of the Australian Jbckey Club’s meeting. The attendance was very large. Trafalgar’s victory in the A.J.O, Plate was■ the signal for a tremendous ovation. Following are the details of the racing:— Rous Handicap, of 600 :soys; one, mile and three furlongs.—Barlow, 8.1, 1; Ocean Blue, 8.7, 2; N.S.W., 8.0, 3. Niue horses started. Woolerina made the running to the turn, but Barlow and Ocean Blue were first into the straight, and in a great fiin'sh Barlow won by a neck, with N.S.W. six lengths behind. Time, 2min 25£sec. Place Handicap, of, 500 sovs; one mile and a half.—Gunboat, 8.3, 1; Odist, 6.7, 2; True Spec, 7.8, 3. Eleven horses started. Alibi, followed by Odist, conduced the field for a milo and a, quarter, where Odist took command and led a bunched field into the straight. Gunboat shot out opposite the Leger stand, finishing in great form, and won by four lengths, with a length between second and third. Time, 2min 35£sec. Second Steeplechase, of 400 sovs; about three miles.—Confide, 11.10, 1; Nigel, 12.2, 2. Five horses started. King fell at the stone wall, Hautapu (after leading twice round) fell at the log fence, and Seldom fell at the back. Won by a neck and a half. Time, 7min4£sec. 1 ( A.J.O. Plate, of 10 sovs each, with 1500 sovs added; three miles.—-Tra-falgar, 9.5, 1; Aurofodina, 9.0, 2; Cadonia, 9.0, 3. Prizefighter and Eyeglass also started. Trafalgar was the first to move, followed by Aurofodina, Prizefighter, Eyeglass and Cadonia, a length separating them. The same order was maintained to the turn, where Cadonia was running third. Going round the second time Cadonia dropped back last, otherwise the order was unchanged. The pace was a cracker throughout. Trafalgar led into the straight from Aurofodina and Cadonia, and won comfortably by two lengths. There was a great race for second place, a neck separating Aurofodiua and Cadonia. Prizefighter was last. Time, smin 29-3 set. Second Nursery Handicap, of 500 sovs; six furlongs.—Leta, 7.7, 1; Auri-

fer, 8.4, 2; Former, 7.0, 3. Niue horses started. Aurifer made most of the running and led well into the straight, hut in a hot finish was defeated by a neck, Former being beaten by three-quarters of a length. Time, Imin ISfsec. Final Handicap, of 500 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—ldyia, 6.9, 1; Bright Laddie, 6.0, 2; Crown Thistle, 8,2, 3. Twelve horses started. Won by half a length, with a similar distance between second and third. Time, 2min lOJsec. TRAFALGAR’S WINNINGS. (Received 15, 9.5 a.m.) Sydney, April 14. Trafalgar has won twenty-three races, winning in the current season £BI6B, his total winnings being £21,605.
