A quiet pretty wedding was celebrated at “Waitapu,” Midhirst, the residence of W. H. Rutledge, Esq., on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Colin C. Harrison officiated at the ceremony. The contracting parties were Mr J. H. Henricksen and Miss A. M. McConnell, both of Hamilton, Auckland. Mr W. A. C. McConnell, of Puriri, Thames, attended as groomsman, and the Misses Laura and Inez Rutledge, as bridesmaids. The bridgroom’s gift to the bride was a hand-some gold bracelet and to the bridesmaids gold brooches and rings. The bride presented the bridegroom with a gold ‘good-luck” ruby ring. The bride was attired in white merveilleuse si Ik trimmed with silk, and choice scarf. The bridesmaids wore brown costumes and bore lovely bouquets. The “goingaway” dress was a navy blue costume and tweed hat. Mr and Mrs Henricksen left for their home in the Waikato by the afternoon train.
