The course was a trifle heavy, Tne attendance was large. Ihe following are the details of the racing:— Second Hurdles Handicap, of HOC sovs; about two miles and a half.— Zoeholme, 11.2, 1 ; Dinyah, 10.9, 2; Pakau, 10.4, 3. Six horses started. The winner took charge at the hack, and was never overhauled, winning hy eight lengths, with Pakau ten lengths away. Time, smin 9]sec. All-aged Stakes, of 2000 sovs; one mile.—Malt King, 1; Lady Medallist, 2; Volsloane, 3. Danaus, Aurofodina, Popinjay, Cisco, Wilari and Wolawa'also stal'ted. r From a good start Wolawa was first to show out. ■ At the half mile post he was half a length in front of Volsloane, Lady Medallist and Popinjay. At the threefurlong post, Wolawa and Volsloane wore together in front of Lady Medallist and Malt King. Before reaching the turn, Wolawa retired, and Volsloane amhLady Medallist rounded the turn together and led into the straight. Malt King, coming fast, joined the leaders at the distance, and finished strongly, heating Lady Medallist hy four lengths, with Volsloane five lengths behind. Then came Aurofodina, Danaus and Wolawa. Coogee Handicap, of 500 sovs; one mile and a furlong.—Alibi, 7.6, 1: Wassail, 6.43, 2; Knringai, 8.12, 3. Fourteen horses started. Sunlike and Alibi made the running to the straight where Alibi came on and won by four lengths,' -with half a length between second and third. Time, Imin 59)
Easter Stakes, of 500 sovs;. seven furlongs.—Symctus, 7.8, 1; Cuneewa. 8.5, 2; Darios, 8.0, 3. Fourteen horses started. Golden Hop was quickcsi away, but Symeins soon took charge, and was never headed, winning by a length, with half a length between second and'third. Time, Imin 331
Cumberland Stakes, of 1000 sovs; two miles.—Trafalgar, 9.4, 1; Eyeglass, 9.1, 2; Saxonite, 9.1, 9. The only starters. Trafalgar; was away first, followed by Eyeglass nd Saxonitc. Passing the judge’s box, Trafalgar led Saxonite by a length, with Eyeglass a length behind. This order was maintained round the • bond and along the back. At the six furlong post, where the pace livened, Trafalgar had half, a length advantage from Saxonite, who was a length ahead of Eyeglass, who closed up qt the turn. Once fairly on the way j'or horae the champion ,-came away and won' by four lengths. Saxonite ran wide and was three lengths away. No time was taken, owing to the stoppage of the clock.
