STRATFORD GOLF CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of members of ytho Stratfjprd Golf Club was held last night. Air. A. W. Budge presided. The report was taken as read. The Secretary (All*. F, N. Fussell) reported that there was a debit balance on the year’s working of £33 18s. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. A. W. Budge (re-elected); vice-presidents, Dr. Carbery and Mr. D. F. Grant; secretary and treasurer, Air. S. Spence; captain, Air. J. R. L. Stanford; comm.ttee, Messrs. Uniacke, Fussell and Spence, and Captain Lampen; auditor, Air. P. Skoglund. The following new members were 'elected: —Alessrs. C. Oroker, C. Wright, jun., J, B. Richards, N. F. Dunlop, Riera, Hedditch, Ritchie, Ivlesdarnes Budd and Steven, and Mi sses O’Brien, Curtis, and N. and F. Wake. . In returning thanks for his re-elec-tion, Air. Budge said that trophies lie had offered last season and which had not been competed for were still available for competition. In seconding the nomination tf Mr S. Spence, as secretary, Air. Lucge said ne felt sure that with Air. Spence in the position the club would Pave nothing to desire. “One of the most energetic members of the club,” said Air. R. Spence, in proposing Mr. Uniacke as a member of the committee. The President gave notice of intention to move that special subscription bo fixed for country members. After a short discussion Mr. Budge decided to move that members living outside a radius of eight miles from Stratford be admitted at a yearly lee of £l. Air. F. W. Wake gave notice to move that honorary members bo admitted at quarter subscriptions. The secretary’s action in ,allowing the Gnn Club the temporary 7 use of storage apace in the club’s pavilion was confirmed. A letter from Airs. Benbow, acknowledging receipt of an expression of condolence from the club, was read. Mr. Wake brought up the question of securing the services of a professional. Mr. S. Spence said one was under engagement for Inglewood. , Air. R. Spence said the matter could be very well left to the committee. I 1 Mr. Wake said the ladies were particularly desirous of having the assistance of a professional. On the motion of Dr. Menzies it was decided to recommend the com-mittee-to arrange a short course for ladies. On the motion of Mr. Wake, seconded by Air. J. H. Thompson, it was decided to recommend, the committee to arrange for the services of a professional. The appointment of Air. Stanford to the local executive of the Sports Protection League was' confirmed. A donation of a guinea to the League’s funds was passed. Mir. S. Spence brought up the question of forming a committee of ladies, arid it was stated that power was given at the previous annual meeting for this ‘being done.' .*■' [■ ■ .The committee was instructed to consider the question of an opening day, April 2oth being suggested. A vote of thanks was passed to the President for the donation of two trophies for' competition.
