TURKISH ELECTIONS.
THE COMMITTEE OF UNION AND PROGRESS TRIUMPHS. 'SKILFUL ENGINEERING. (Received 10, 9.10 a.m.) Constantinople, April 9. The Committee of Union and Progress had a sweeping victory at the election, opposition having practically disappeared. What is left is merely irreconcilable sections. The Union's success is due to the stubborn resistance of the troops in Tripoli neutralising the earlier indignation against the Committee, combined with carefully engineered reports of Turkish successes.
