Newton King's Weekly Report. On Friday, 29th, at my Waiwakaiho yards every available cattle pen was filled and there was a good entry of sheep. The demand 'was best for good store, dairy, and forward cows, other cattle and sheep being dull of sale. Prices realised were: Small wethers'Bs Id, lambs Os to 7s 6d, 2 and 4-tooth ewes lis sd, forward ewes 14s 2d, sound; mouth ewes 7s, mixed weaners (best) £1 2s 6d to £1 Bs, others il2s Cd to 19s, wcaner heifers Jersey cross £2 Is Gd, others 18s 6d to £1 7s, weaner, steers, (poor) 16s, yearlings coloured > £1 4s, 20-month steers £3 to £3 3s Gd, poor £1 10s to £2, (bad colonrs) 20 : nioh'th eiripty heifers £2 12s to £3 : 10s, store cows old £1 Is to. £1 15,% better, class £2. 4 s to £3 4s' forward cows £4 to £4 10s, cows and calves £3. 2s springing cows only fair quality, ,£4 15s, spring calvers £4 10s to' £6 17s, bulls £1 15s to £3 19,5, stags £1 .13s. At Urenui on Monday, Ist April, there was a big yarding of both cattle and sheep. Bidding throughout was dull except for good cows and in-calf heifers though practically every line was sold during the day.
