Langford defeated McVea on point:;. Langford led for sixteen out of twenty rounds, and won easily. The despatch race between motor cars, motor cycles, and bicycles, from Melbourne to Sydney, was won by the motor cyclists in record time, owing, to the driver of one of the cars mining the road. The various times were: Motor cyclists, 51hrs 50min; motor cars, 47hrs 46min; cyclists, 69hrs 32 mill.
Felton defeated Fogwell by two and a half lengths in a sculling contest at Grafton. The time given (17min 20sec) is queried. Clark beat Goullet in a match over a mile. In the internationalteamf race, Lawson and Grenda won tin best two out of three milo events, dp featiug Clark and MacNamara and Hehir and Goullet. Sheppard paced three miles in 4min 35 2-ssec, and Australasian record. The live miles scratch race resulted:—Goullet 1, Hehir 2, Dixon 3. In the tennis tournament New South Wales defeated Victoria by 137 games to 82. Wellington, April 8.

The North Island ititer-associatioa championship tournament was concluded at the Eden and Epsom courts this afternoon, when Auckland defeatec Taranaki by 18 sets to 17. Each teair secured eight matches, but the ruls; provide that when the points are evei the contest must be decided by tlv team having won the greatest tram ber of sets. Four combined double; were decided to-day. Two were unfinished from Saturday last, but ii was agreed to start them again fronr the beginning.
