A meeting of the Liberal League will be held in Mr. A. Coleman’s_ office on Wednesday evening, when final arrangements will be made in connection with the presentation to Mr. Joseph McCluggage. A large number of prominent members of the House have signified their intention of being present. Elsewhere is a notification by the well-known local firm of solicitors, Messrs. Spence and Stanford, that they have admitted into partnership Mr. Samuel Spence, who has for several years acted as their clerk. Mr. Robert Spence, who qualified at a very young age, founded the present practice shortly after obtaining his majority. The practice grew and continued to grow very rapidly. In 1907 Mr. J. R. L. Stanford, who for several years had acted as managing clerk, was admitted by Mr. Spence into partnership. Now the firm have conferred upon Mr. Sam Spence the reward of a faithful clerkship. We tender the new firm our hearty congratulations and best wishes for continuance of prosperity.
