The Customs and excise revenue of the Commonwealth for nine months shows hn increase of £130,000 over the estimate. Ncwtcn King’s Stratford Weekly Report. At the Haymarket on Saturday there was a large attendance. Pigs were penned in moderate numbers, chiefly weaners. Prices ruling on the whole were about even with last week’s sale. A large quantity of furniture and sundries sold well. Fruit: About 000 cases came to hand during the week, prices ruling were a little higher than last week —peaches 2s Gd to Is 6d, pears 2s to 4s 3d, apples Is 9d to 6s Gd, quinces 2s to 4s, tomatoes 3s 6d to 5s 9d according to size of case and quality. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date 29th inst.; Market firmer lamb; market steady beef; demand improving mutton ; good demand for sheepskins, prices ruling in sellers’ favour. T. Lamason’s Weekly Report. A very large entry of poultry was catalogued on Saturday, and considering quantity and quality, prices wore very satisfactory. I quote as follows: Hens lOd to is 9d, roosters Is to Is Gd, cockerels 9d to Is 6d, pullets Is 9d to 3s 3d, ducks Is 3d to Is 9d. About 500 cases of fruit came forward during the week, and prices are as follows:—Apples 2s to os, pears 2s to ss, peaches 2s Gd to Is, tomatoes 4s Gd to 5s Gd, grapes Gd per lb.
