THE SCOTTISH SOCIETY.

Jn our present issue the Taranaki Provincial' 1 Scottish Society invites applications 'for membership from the people horn in Scotland, (2) people born out :qf Scotland but of Scottish descent on either side, (3) and from sons and daughters of members of the Society. The objects of the Society are social intercourse, national literature, benevolence, etc. As tliere are a large number of Scottish people in this district, the Society bids fair to become a large and inflnential/one. The first, annual meeting is to be held on Wednesday, 24th April, at Stratford.' ' Applications for membership are to he sent to the secretary, Mr. Alex. Henderson.
