Sydney, March 29. H.M.S. Drake, the new flagshi'p for the Australian squadron, arrived this evening from Hobe.rt, having established a record. The Government has announced the appointment of nine members to the Legislative Council. Sydney, March 30. The redistribution of seats scheme gazetted'leaves only four of the present eletoratds intact. The city has a distinctly bigger representation. Melbourne, March 29. The Hon. W. A. Watt, Colonial Treasurer, l has been cited for contempt of Court for refusing to obey a mandamus to grant a liquor license at Wonthaggi. The High Court granted an order nisi on the application of the Melbourne tramways to restrain Mr Justice Higgins proceeding with any tramway matters, on the ground of lack of jurisdiction.
