A NEW TOWN HALL.
OPENED AT DANNEVIRKK

Dannevirke, March 27
The now brick Town Hall was opened by Lord Islington this afternoon. The building was designed by the Hon. W. Pitt, of Melbourne, and will seat about one thousand people. The work cost £II,OOO, including the installation of electric light, which was carried out by Mr J. H. Fairhurst, the contractor, who was given a gold watch by the Council in appreciation of the faithful manner in which the work had been carried out. Lord Islington to-night, attended a performance by the local amateurs of “H.M.S. Pinafore,” and afterwards left by ‘ special train for Wellington.
