At the meeting of the Farmers’ Union on Monday Mr. Marfell gave a very., interesting and instructive lecture- on tlie aims and achievements of the| Farmers’ Union. The secretary reported having received 15 entries for thetlswede-growing competition, and 4 in (the mangold competition. As the financial year closes on March 3Jst, theuqocretary would like all subscriptions to be paid by that date. A working bee was held at the bath§ ,on Tuesday, when, after three hours’ strenuous baling out water, the baths were lined with timber on button) and sides in quick time, cveryone/ doing his best, special praise being’,due to our worthy chairman (Mr. D.;s, Maxwell) and Mr. Downs, who presented the workers with a wee drap o’ t|)£ crayther. Mrs. Allen very kindly entertained the workers to afterno qp .tea. - --liu
