Hcaly, who served for two hours on his rounds on a meat cart with a level ver bullet in his brain, where it hud penetrated his forehead, is making good progress at the hospital, where the bullet was extracted by Dr. Martin. _, Wellington, March 24. A man whose identity is unknown was seen this afternoon to fall off the ■end of Clyde Quay Wharf, into the harbour, investigations failed to discover any trace of the man. Where he fell from’ there was a fishing line, suggesting that he had been fishing, and had probably overbalanced himself. Christchurch, March 24. An inquest was held at the hospital to-day in regard to the death of Joseph .Richard Ilosewaine, 17 years of age, who died from injuries sustained by falling from a loaded dray at Opapuku, near Kaipoi, yesterday. Dr. T. 'l'. Thompson, house surgeon, stated that deceased’s condition when he was admitted to the hospital was too bad to allow an operation to be performed, and he died from effect of the injuries caused by the accident. The Coroner returned a verdict that death resulted from injuries caused by falling off a loaded dray. Auckland, March 25. A young man named Eric Dennis Hacon, 27 years was given an anesthetic previous to an operation by a local doctor and died under the effect of the drug. It is supposed that the cause was .heart failure. Taihape, March 25. Yesterday John Duncan Buchanan, a member of the “Daily Times” staff, was found dead in bed. He appeared to be in Ids usual health on Saturday, and evidently passed away in the night. Death was probably due to heart failure. His wife only lately died. Three children arc left. Wairoa, March 25. A boy aged two years and seven months, named Allen L. Allison, Man-go-one, died on Saturday from (eating Quiboll’s sheep dip. • / A native named Willie No a was drowned at Waikarctaheko.
