A doctor Was attending his mother, and prior to his capture Lumb shot his mother dead. The Marchioness of Crewe, who underwent an operation for appendicitis, is progressing favourably. Tom Mann has been arrested. The nature of the charge has not transpired. Vickers, Son, and Maxim have successfully tested,,quick-firers for the portable aeroplanes. Six deaths similar to the municipal shelter cases in January occurred at Gelsekkirchon. A balloon manner by ■ two officers (broke from its moorings and drifted, dragging a 1 steel rope. The latter touched a high tension wire which short-circuited and the balloon caught fire and fell in the town of Bischeim. The officers were badly injured. New Work, March 19. Three convicts escaped from the penitentiary in Lincoln (Nebraska), killing three of the gaoi officials in making their escape. A posse pursued them and maintained a running fight' for several miles. They killed two,of the convicts and the third surrendered. Chihuahua, March 19. Two v hundred Federals surrendered near Raca. The rebel army is pushing towards Ojinaga. Rome, March 19.' Tho steamer North Briton, bound from Sunderland for Sulina, has foundered. Twenty were drowned and one saved.
