the ENGLISH COAL STRIKE. (Received 19, 11.40 a.m.) London, March 18. Three hundred colliers at Burton raided a number of coal vans, overturned them, and seized tho contents. There have been several arrests m connection with 'the matter. Coal in London advanced 4s toT’hcre is a growing belief that the Government will suspend the Eight Hours Act until the supply equals the demand. xl ~ In the blouse of Commons the liemicr stated that tho Government was introducing the Minimum Wage Bill to-morrow. It was highly important that it bo passed on Thursday, so that the House of Lords 'could consider it on Friday. Mr. J. Thomas, M.P. for Derby, explained- in the House of Commons that the executive of the Amalgamated Railwayman’® Union had resolved to foreclose' on mortgages and had since rescinded the resolution.
