THE UNSEATING PETITION. (Per Press Association.) Blenheim, March 19. The Election Court resumed this morning for the hearing of the petition against the election, of Richard McCallum as member for Wairau. William Humphreys,- secretary of the McKenzie Carrying Co., continuing Ids evidence regarding the movements of the company’s vehicles on election day, said,, substituting the name of Macey, chairman of McCallum’s general committee, for Sutherland, chairman of tho Grovotown committee, was' made an instruction to Logan,, then manager of the company. J aines Frank Nosworthy, chairman of directors of the McKenzie Carrying Company, said no proposition was made to the company during the last six months, to supply vehicles free to anybody. Hogan, manager, left the company’s service of his own accord on March 2nd.- Neither Macey nor McCallum saw witness in reference to an account for £3O 16s 6d for hire of vehicles. 'Witness instructed the company’s solicitor to examine the book® for December, a,s the secretary desired to be perfectly clear regarding the account, which Macey disputes, a s he knew the company would be subpoenaed. Re never instructed. Hogan or any other employee ito give vehicles gratuitously to McCallum, To Mr. Skerre'tt: No action had been taken in regard to suing Macey for tho unpaid account.
