Tlio weather was fine for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Tin speakers, including Archbishop Kellj and Mr Hazelton, Irish delegate, strongly advocated Home Rule. Ar chbishop Kelly declared that if affairs were properly managed Home Rule was as certain in the near future as the rising of the sun. Main said they would lay down their live; for Ireland. Give him the man win would lay down his glass for Ireland Anyone who would do this for tin sake of Irish prosperity he would ere dit better than those who wont abousaying they would sacrifice then lives. AT WELLINGTON. Wellington, March 17. St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated oi Saturday by a procession and sport; in Newtown Park. The weather wa; ]>erfect. Mass was said at nim o’clock, Dean Reginault preaching ; sermon appropriate to the occasion. A*, the conclusion of the service a pro cession was formed, headed by Juppb Band, and assisted by Stannc’s Cade - Drum and Fife Band. Among thos< who marched were St. Patrick’s Col. lego cadets, Marist Bros, cadets, Hi l.ernian Society and Catholic Club. / feature of the procession was the Iris! jaunting car, in which was seated M M. Bohan, father of the H.1A.C.8.5. who founded the Wellington branch h 1574. Among those present at the sport; were Archbishop Redwood, Archdeacoi I evoy, Dean Regnault, Father O’Shea (Vicar-general), Dr. Kennedy (rectoat St. Patrick’s College), Sir Josepl and Lady Ward and Miss Eileen Ward and Sir James Carroll. A programmer sports was gone through, includ ing a display by pupils of the Sacrcc Heart Convent. The Irish nationa concert will be held in tho Town Hal on Monday evening.
