(Per Press Association.) Levin, March 15, The Weraroa Hotel, Levin, was completely destroyed by fire last night. The building burnt rapidly and the occupants escaped in night attire only. The fall of a chimney on the roof of the store room crushed it in and occasioned superficial injuries to two -oc-cupants,-necessitating .surgical attention. The origin of the outbreak is unknown. The hotel is insured for £I7OO, also the stock and furniture for £BOO in tho Atlas office. Staples and Co. were the owners. The personal effects of Mrs Higgins, licensee, wore insured for £IOO in tho Ocean office. At the inquest on Bignoll, custodian of the public schools, found hanging in a building, a verdict of temporarily insane was returned. Evidence showed that lie was struck severely on the head by flying iimloi at a sawmill a few years ago ami thereafter had moody (habits and was given to wandering abroad.
