(Per Press Association ) Christchurch, March 16. Disturbances more or less serious have been frequent at evening drills of Territorials of late, the cause being alleged roughness on the part of noncoms. Last night the assistance of the police was invoked. It is stated that a lieutenant struck one of the lads with a cane. After drill the lad’s comrades mobbed the officer and hunted'him round the barracks. He eventually escaped to the police yard where he changed his clothes. New Plymouth, March 16. The yield from the Taranaki Petroleum Company’s No. 3 well since last Saturday night is 60 barrels pure oil. The other wells keep up a full flow. The company will be able to claim the second portion of the Government subsidy for half 11 million gallons of crude oil in a few days.
