Hobart, March 1L _ Amundsen corrects the “Chronicle’s” statement that the _altitudc reached by tlie party .was 16,500 feet. The highest point reached, he said, was 11510 feet, and 1500 at the Pole. It was extremely’ possibly that Scott readied the Pole, ‘but there were no imitations of it when he was there. After docking the Fram and a short lecturing tour, Amundsen starts on his quest of the North Pole.
